In 2016 several families joined together to transform 20 Front Street in Lake Orion from an old antique shop into a beautiful, intimate music venue. Artists from all over the world have shared their gifts in this wonderful up close and personal listening room.
One Ton Trolley delivers Roots Rock from the Rustbelt; a genre melt, ripe with the sights, sounds, and smells of Southeast Michigan. A no-frills, rustic-ride navigating the lines between folk, rock, country, blues, and bluegrass. Riveting harmonies, lush guitars, and powerful rhythms. Small footprint, big sound.
The Trolley predominantly showcases the songwriting of vocalist/guitarist Bill Arnold. Rounding out the group are Anthony Zack (vocals/guitar), Chris Brown (bass) and Jon Johnson (drums).
One Ton Trolley released their 6-song EP, No Simple Highways, in March of 2022.
A 12-song LP, Sunday Morning Cigarettes, is currently in production for an early 2023 release.
John Gerometta is a born-n-raised Detroiter with Motown in his blood and the voice to prove it. His soulful lyrics of love and loss sail through delicate acoustic melodies, rising and falling with the dynamics of a great story-teller.
Picking up the guitar at 12, his early songs were influenced by the pop ballads and radio-friendly melodies of the 80’s, but after surviving a 2 year bout with cancer as a teen, his writing took a dark but beautiful turn.
His inspired songs of social commentary, and introspection touch the darkness in all of us and remind us we’re all just trying to make it out alive.
He may be the most under-appreciated singer-songwriter you’ve never heard of…
